In 2000, Alvin’s Cliff Ford had a revolutionary idea – to aerate alcohol just like wine. He fashioned a device he called a “contraption” that was designed to strip volatile compounds and create the best liquor. After Cliff passed away in 2001, his son Ricky took on the project and asked for help from Dr. Ben Mosier at Texas A&M.
Seven years later, Dr. Mosier contacted Ricky again with news of a breakthrough. Together they established a Research and Development department, aiming to streamline the process of removing impurities from distilled spirits, creating more pure and efficient products than had ever been done before. The result? A more accessible method of producing some of the best liquor on the market today – all because of Cliff’s original vision.
